Parents-CREWhat is CRE?

Christian Religious Education (also known as 'Bible In Schools') is when one or more volunteers go into a school and teach a class or large group. Teachers come from, and are supported by local churches. CEC trains and accredits voluntary teachers and provides them with suitable resources.

Single Class Format: Lessons are usually 30 minutes, once a week - often from 9-9:30am. The curricula endorsed by CEC encourages children to develop solid values through teaching the basics of Christian belief.

Large Group Format: These are assembly type programmes with one or more volunteers presenting an interactive lesson.

 Parents-ChaplaincyWhat is State School Chaplaincy?

State school chaplains provide a safe, caring, supportive Christian presence for everyone involved in a school, including students, staff and (when appropriate) the wider school community.

They are not there to promote a church or church group, or to evangelise in the school. Rather, they are available to the whole school community to provide 'pastoral' care. They listen to those with needs, giving support and encouragement.
They give children time, and encourage them to look for
solutions to their problems.
