Becoming A CRE Teacher

Do we need more CRE teachers?

YES - There are schools in your area with children who need a teacher!

It will be the best half hour of your week as you enjoy interacting with the children, sharing God's love and encouraging good, Biblical values.

If you're interested, contact your local Regional advisor who will be happy to arrange for you to observe a CRE class before you decide. Many volunteers start out as a 'helper' to a current CRE teacher to develop their skills and confidence. Some prefer to remain in this role rather than taking a class of their own. Others do the training and then go straight into teaching a class.

All CRE teachers must be trained, endorsed by their church and police vetted. See the Basic Training modules which will make up your basic training for accreditation.

If you'd like to take the next step and sign up as a CRE volunteer teacher or you would like further information, please contact your Regional Advisor.

All voluntary teachers are encouraged to be a safe, professional Christian presence in a school. Training and accrediation should be completed, or at least well in progress, before a teacher is accepted for work in a school. Training and accrediation are a safeguard for voluntary teachers, Boards of Trustees, parents/caregivers and students.
