Qualities of leadership document
A good start to any conference it to arrive on time,at the wrong location. And of course that is where you meet your other likeminded attendees! Having met and greeted without the usual name badges it was a wonderful start to me, a chaplain- in - waiting who felt a little out of my league to say the least. The continual coffee aside, this conference bubbled with enthusiasm and encouragement.
The speakers both in the main conference and for the chaplaincy workshops were passionate aout their topics from Denise Torrie to Mike Dodge, we were encouraged and empowered to get out there and be a beacon for Christ. The Principals who shared with us sung the praises of their CRE teachers, and chaplains. Their heartfrelt crying out for more schools to enter into a prgram of chaplaincy struck at the heart of the passionate need in our communities in NZ for direction for our famillies.
So full of enthusiam and incredibly encouraged I joined a group of people for the final dinner after Paul Young inspired me with his talk and Petrea with her enthusiasm and motivation, it was concluded that yes we needed two days, a head rush of information, and yes so much to learn from each other. I wandered off home feeling it a pleasure and honour to be part of the CEC programme. Inspired even... thanks to you all.
