Northlands School Chaplaincy Retreat

16-17th October 2009

Each year Northland School Chaplains hold their annual Retreat at beautiful Te Ngaere Bay just north of Matauri Bay. This year the retreat was to enable the chaplains to train in the programme ‘Seasons for Growth.’ This programme is an education programme to lead children, youth and adults through grief and loss. Because of the importance of this training we invited other chaplaincies to join us.

Delia Ruane led us through 12 hours of intensive training. We were all comfortably housed in three beach cottages, with just a brief time to walk along the beach in our meal breaks.

We are very grateful for the generosity of Christians who lend us their homes and the excellent teaching of our tutor. We pray that this training can be used by our chaplains for the benefit of our pupils and teachers in Northland schools.

Welcome to Christine - Northland

Kia Ora Everyone,

I’m Christine, the new Administration Assistant for CEC Northland. I’m happy to be on board with such a dedicated team of people who are committed to God’s will and purposes for CRE and Chaplaincy in Schools in Northland. It’s also great to be part of a solid prayer group who meets regularly to support the needs of CRE and Chaplaincy with prayer.

This Administration position was an answer to prayer for me as I had been praying and asking the Lord for employment within the body of Christ; employment which would be meaningful and have a purpose within God’s Kingdom.

I was a Bible in Schools teacher some years ago for a couple of years before my youngest child started school, so I have an appreciation for the nature of CRE work.

Please feel free to make contact with me for any administration needs or enquiries. I will also be happy to take any CRE or Chaplaincy prayer needs or requests back to our prayer support group.
